Unfortunately our beloved Cape Romano Dome Homes are no longer with us. In 2022, Hurricane Ian proved to be too much for the iconic, world-renowned attraction to withstand.
Built in the 1980's, it served as an "off-grid" residence to Bob Lee, a retired, independent oil producer. Making its way from land to beach to eventually ~200ft from shore, these unique, concrete chambers are now with the sea. Some of the pilings remain standing above water.
The Domes will forever be a part of Marco Island and Dreamlander Tour’s History. Once a key and integral part of our tour, it will be deeply missed but we will keep it alive in our hearts and memories.
